  • FIRST Robotics Competition

Our main team, Team 1102. Students work in five subteams to take a robot from sketch to competition floor, and run the team like a small company while they do it.

The subteams

On the FRC team, every student works with a subteam.

SubteamWhat students do
EngineeringDesign Designs the robot's structure and mechanisms, and tests ideas on paper and in CAD before anything is cut.
Manufacturing Cuts, drills, machines, and assembles the parts, then keeps the robot repaired between matches.
Programming Writes the code that drives the robot, from driver controls to the routine that runs on its own at the start of a match.
Media and PR Photographs, films, and writes the team's story for social media, sponsors, and competition judges.
Business Plans the budget, finds and thanks sponsors, and organizes outreach and fundraising.
